Meet the author session

“Mirror, Mirror on the Wall “was written to show how Great Britain has developed both socially and politically since the 1950s. It is an attempt to understand how a once such great country had managed to manoeuvre itself into such a globally isolated position.
Thought-provoking was an adjective which it was hoped would be used to describe it – and it seems that is exactly what it is.
At a first “meet the author” session held in Germany, it became obvious that there were many aspects of Brexit which are completely incomprehensible to even the staunchest of anglophiles. In-depth discussions and honest attempts to understand just why Britain never really felt “at home” in the European community became part of the lively and informative discourse.
Questions on class awareness, British values, and the political situation on the island all found their place with Boris Johnson playing a considerable role, how could he not after all that has happened? No-one could read into the tea leaves as to what Britain`s future looks like – because the session was accompanied by excellent coffee.
